Weddings and events happen in every direction. I photograph the center of the action and the moments at the edges—the ones you cannot see while you are busy living them.
I know when to offer direction, when to start a conversation, and when to step back. I give people room to be themselves without leaving the result to chance.
I deliver a complete visual record: the people, the atmosphere, the details, and the moments that made the day feel like yours.

Tailed Stories is my first full photo journal: a newspaper-style series about people across the Appalachian South. It grows from the personal stories I have already shared through Facebook and gives that work a permanent editorial home.
I photograph, interview, and write each edition, pairing a portrait with a carefully reported story in the subject’s own voice.

I’m Garlyn Taylor—a Navy veteran, photographer, photojournalist, journalist, filmmaker, vlogger, and creative producer with ten years of experience creating content.
Military service and travel outside the United States taught me how to arrive prepared, read a situation, and work respectfully with people from different backgrounds. On assignment, I can direct when someone needs help and become nearly invisible when the moment needs room.
I work on location and travel for portraits, weddings, events, hospitality, real estate, commercial campaigns, and ongoing content production.
